More Pictures From the Clothing Drive
As Emma said yesterday, the clothing drive was a HUGE success! Many needy families were provided with clothes and backpacks for school. We gave away snow cones, popcorn, and hot dogs. :) Dispite the SUPER hot weather, everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. Here are the rest of the pictures. :)

Please make sure you are there ready to help out. I know not everyone can make it, but please, if you are available at least stop by for a short bit. Every little bit of help is beneficial. Another Great Saturday Night!
Saturday night was amazing, but I think one thing that made it extra special was the fact that it was storming outside! WhooHoo! The lightning and the thunder and the rain was awesome! :D Pastor Ryan, Brooke, and Holden were also back from vacation. We missed you guys! So glad to have you back! I can't wait to do it all again next Saturday. Same time, same place! Be there, or be square! :P

We Were Kidnapped!!!
Snug and warm in my cozy bed, I sink lower beneath the covers, and try to block out the sounds coming from the hallway. I hear Mom, Dad, and Alexa's muffled voices. "What time is it?" I think to myself. As I finish asking myself this question, my door bursts open with a loud BOOM! Mom speaks first "Get up! We're kidnapping you! Get up! You have 5 minutes!" I am in a daze, but somehow manage to ask, "What time is it?" "4 AM!" Mom replies. Ugh! I roll out of bed, still a bit dazed. Finally I get my bearings enough to ask, "So what are we doing?" Dad speaks this time, "We are going to breakfast. We have a lot of other kids to get, so hurry up!" "And no changing, combing your hair, or makeup!" Mom adds. Oh my, what are these crazy youth leaders up to?
For all of us, that was how our mornings started. We were woken up SUPER early to go and have breakfast with our "friendly neighborhood youth group" as Mike so nicely put it. After the initial shock wore off from being up at the butt crack of dawn, we started to think, "Haha! This is crazy!" After the last person was woken up, we all headed to Denny's in the Caring, Sharing, and Growing in Christ van. So here we are, sixteen of us bombarded Denny's with our PJ's and messy hair.
Thanks so much Mike, Wendy, Chuck, and Susan for making yesterday morning super fun for us. Yes, believe it or not we did have fun. But take this bit of advice: next time to want to take up to breakfast, do so at a DECENT hour! LOL! Just kidding! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!
Oh, and one more thing....THAT VIDEO WAS HILARIOUS! I learned many things, the most important being: Don't EVER wake Marah up at that hour, unless you want your head torn off!

Last Saturday: Hangin' in the Youth Room
After an awesome sermon delivered by Henry Rojas, all us kids migrated into the Youth Room for some after church fun! About 12 of us stayed after for some Wii, coffee punch, cookies, and just some all around good fellowship. Our new tradition is quickly taking off! Finally Saturday night church is filling up the pews! Praise God! I pray that everyone will continue to come and hang out at church on Saturday night. Its the place to be! Let's do it again next week shall we?

This is the Start of Something Good
So here are some pictures from the 2nd time we met at the Brink's. This was our first "real" meeting. We had yummy Subway subs, and some delicious oreo dessert. :) Many wonderful ideas were shot around about what us kids wanted to do for the youth:
- Makeover the Youth Room into a cafe type hangout.
- Name said Cafe the "Uthtray Cafe" pig Latin for "Truth Cafe" oh Mike you are a silly one!
- Come up with a new name and logo for the group.
- Design T-shirts with said logo and name on them.
- Create a blog so we could all stay connected [already done! LOL!]
- Have some wicked awesome pool parties.
- Hear testimonies from some of the adults in our church.
- Everyone come to church on Sat. night and hang in the Youth Room afterwards for Wii and food.
- Overall, just have TONS of fun!
So far things are looking up! Many of these things are already in the works. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for the future of this new group!

Jr. & Sr. High Boys: What are you up to?
Junior and Senior High boys have the privilege of reading a wonderful book about young men like yourselves. "The Young Man in the Mirror" is supposed to be a wonderful book for young men ready to enter into manhood. Chuck and Mike are leading this group, and are really excited for what's to come.
Assignment This Week: Following Kylee's testimony she gave tonight, next week will be discussing it a little futher and what role a guy plays in that kind of situation, and how it is equally as important for you men to keep your purity as well. Be thinking of any questions to may have.

Jr. High Girls: What are you up to?
The Jr. High Girls are reading an AWESOME book! Its called "Mean Girls Gone: A Spiritual Guide to Getting Rid of Mean." Now, I don't know what this book is about, but it sure sounds like an awesome study...and the cover of the book is SUPER cute! :)
Assignment This Week: Read the next chapters in your book. Be ready to share next week. :) Remember, within the next couple of weeks we will be joining the High school girls so you can ask them some questions. So be thinking what kinds of things you might want to ask.
Remember, we won't be meeting for our regular study on Wednesday. Instead we are meeting at the McDowell's house for BBQ and swimming! Pool party! Oh yeah! Bring your suit and your beach towel, because we are gonna be having an awesome time swimming and fellowshipping! We will resume normal study at the Brink's the following Wednesday.
Senior High Girls: What are we up to?
Us high school girls have the awesome privledge of studying an amazing book titled: Lies Young Women Believe: And The Truth That Sets Them Free. This book is written beautifuly by Nancy DeMoss and Dannah Gresh, and it dives deep into the lies that us teenage girls often fall into. In this book DeMoss and Gresh tackle 25 of the most common lies that young women believe, and they give us the truth that will set up free.
Assignment This Week - This coming Wednesday 9/9, us girlies are going to discuss what Kylee shared. Please read the chapter on Lies About Relationships. Remember to be praying for you prayer partners.

Welcome CAC Youth!!!
Well, this is the start of something awesome! The Lord has chosen a group of four special people to take us youth of Community Alliance Church, and disciple us! Praise God! Finally we are being noticed. Finally we are being cared for. Finally we are being taught. Finally we are having fun. Finally we are being listened to. Finally, we are being loved.
Mike, Wendy, Susan, and Chuck felt a calling. A calling to raise up the youth of Community Alliance and show us the Way. I thank them all for obeying the Good Lord. Through their obedience, I personally am seeing changes in our youth, and our church. We are finally getting fed you guys! Finally someone cares enough about us to make sure that we don't fall astray from the Lord. Amen to that!!!
We have only been meeting for three weeks now, and already things are changing. Relationships are forming, and lives are being changed. Friends, my prayer is this: I pray that we all will continue to grow in our relationships with Jesus Christ.
I look forward to many fun and life changing experiences on the road to come. God bless you all this week!
